A NOVEL AND HIGHLY SENSITIVE CATALYTIC METHOD FOR THE DETERMINATION OF ULTRA TRACE AMOUNTS OF CERIUM WITH SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC DETECTION

Authors: not saved
Abstract:

Cerium (IV) has a catalytic effect on the very slow redox reaction between gallocyanine and bromate in acidic media. The reaction was monitored spectrophotometrically at 525 nm by a fixed time method of 4.0 rnin from initiation of the reaction. The decrease in absorbance at 525 nm is proportional to the Ce (IV) concentration in the range of 0.005-1.000 and 1.00-10.00 pg. ml-l. The limit of detection is 2.0 ng.ml-'. The relative standard deviation for ten replicate analyses of 0.100 pg.ml-' is 1.5%. The method is used for the determination of cerium in synthetic and in real samples, with good accuracy. The effect of interfering cations and anions was also studied.

A Highly Sensitive Kinetic Spectrophotometric Method for the Determination of Ascorbic Acid in Pharmaceutical Samples

In this study, a new reaction system for quantitative determination of ascorbic acid was introduced. The developed method is based on inhibitory effect of ascorbic acid on the Orange G-bromate system. The change in absorbance was followed spectrophotometrically at 478 nm. The dependence of sensitivity on the reaction variables including reagents concentration, temperature and time was investiga...

A Catalytic Spectrophotometric Method for the Analytical Determination of Trace Amounts of Mercury (II)

A catalytic method has been developed for the determination of microgram amounts of mercury (II) based on its catalytic effect on the rate of a ligand substitution reaction. The reaction studied involved the substitution of cyanide in hexacyanoferrate (II) by resacetophenone benzoic acid hydrazone (2’, 4’dihydroxy propiophenone benzoic acid hydrazone) and the reaction was monitored spectrophoto...

Catalytic-Spectrophotometric Determination of Trace Amounts of Manganese(II) by Catalysis of the Oxidation of Ferroin with Periodate

A catalytic spectrophotometric method for determination of ultra-trace quantities of manganese(II) id described. The method is based on the catalytic effect of manganese(II) on the oxidation reaction of ferroin by potassium periodate in acidic media. The reaction is monitored spectrophotometrically at 510 nm by a slope method and Mn(II) is determinable in the range of 1-1000ngmL-1</sup...

wuthering heights and the concept of marality/a sociological study of the novel

to discuss my point, i have collected quite a number of articles, anthologies, and books about "wuthering heights" applying various ideas and theories to this fantastic story. hence, i have come to believe that gadamer and jauss are rightful when they claim that "the individaul human mind is the center and origin of all meaning," 3 that reading literature is a reader-oriented activity, that it ...
